Dr. J. Wallace Walker OD
Dr. Walker graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry after earning a Bachelor’s in Spanish from Brigham Young University. Following that, he did an internship in New York City for people with visual impairments, as well as a rotation at the VA hospital in optometry services.
He started practicing in Molalla in 1994; in 2014, he joined the team in Milwaukie as well. At both clinics he performs eye exams, treats eye diseases and fits contact lenses. He’s also the medical director of both clinics.
Dr. Walker is proud of the relationships they’ve developed over the years – the doctor-patient relationships, as well as professional relationships with other specialists, so that when a patient needs specialty care, he can refer them to the right person. “We’re pretty good at finding out the patient’s needs and coming up with a solution,” he said. “I enjoy problem-solving, and I enjoy helping people.”
Random fact about Dr. Walker? He plays the banjo. He hates fishing. He’s also taken optometry students to South and Central America multiple times over the years to provide eye care.

Dr. Nils Kofoed OD
Dr. Kofoed was born in Nampa, Idaho and raised in the farming town of Parma near the Oregon border. Before graduating from Pacific University College of Optometry, he completed his undergraduate degree at Boise State University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology.
Dr. Kofoed has had the opportunity to serve patients in a variety of clinic environments including an ocular surgery center, veteran’s hospital, vision therapy clinic, and even abroad in Belize. He hopes to bring this wealth of experience into providing quality eye care to smaller towns and less-served communities similar to where he grew up.
Outside of work, Dr. Kofoed loves fishing and hopes to one day win Dr. Walker over on the activity. He also enjoys mountain biking, taking trips to the coast, and exploring Oregon’s scenic wine country.
Hired in 2018, Rose has over 20 years of experience in the Optical Industry. She specializes in repairing the seemingly unrepairable eyewear and helping patients pick the perfect pair of eyeglasses. Her favorite part of her job is the patients! Helping them get exactly what they want is what makes her love working at Molalla Family Eyecare.
Samantha joined our team in January of 2018 with 20 years of experience in the workers compensation insurance industry. She is the person that you will most likely speak with when scheduling your appointment. Samantha’s main job at the clinic is verifying patient insurance information and getting everything ready for their visit, but she also helps at the front desk with patient flow and in the optical boutique.
Compassionate is one word that we use to describe Samantha, and really listening to a patient’s concerns is one of Samantha’s strong points.
