Dr. J. Wallace Walker OD
Dr. Walker graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry after earning a Bachelor’s in Spanish from Brigham Young University. Following that, he did an internship in New York City for people with visual impairments, as well as a rotation at the VA hospital in optometry services.
He started practicing in Molalla in 1994; in 2014, he joined the team in Milwaukie as well. At both clinics he performs eye exams, treats eye diseases and fits contact lenses. He’s also the medical director of both clinics.
Dr. Walker is proud of the relationships they’ve developed over the years – the doctor-patient relationships, as well as professional relationships with other specialists, so that when a patient needs specialty care, he can refer them to the right person. “We’re pretty good at finding out the patient’s needs and coming up with a solution,” he said. “I enjoy problem-solving, and I enjoy helping people.”
Random fact about Dr. Walker? He plays the banjo. He hates fishing. He’s also taken optometry students to South and Central America multiple times over the years to provide eye care.
